Here’s a glimpse into this beautiful celebration, featuring everything from unique personal touches to golden-hour magic.
A Modern-Vintage Design in Soft Blue
This wedding’s soft blue palette felt like a modern take on vintage chinaware, with a mix of solids and patterns that harmonized perfectly against the lush greens and Barn Kestrel’s light blue house. The subtle contrast created an elegant, timeless aesthetic in every shot, especially during those sweet, candid moments between the bride, Katie, and her groom, Michael, who was visibly moved by her beauty throughout the day.
Memorable Moments
From the start, this wedding had a lighthearted yet heartfelt atmosphere! From dance parties in the bridal suite to doing the worm on the dance floor. 😂🤭 One of the standout moments to me was the surprise “Beer Boy” who kicked off the processional with a fun song, dancing and handing out beers to guests—a twist that set the tone for a joyous celebration.

- Bridal Suite: With natural light streaming in, the suite was ideal for Katie’s getting-ready photos and detail shots.
- Outdoor Spaces: The bright August weather called for some strategic use of shade. I guided the wedding party to shaded patches around the main house to keep everyone comfortable and capture soft, balanced lighting. After the ceremony, we took additional photos in open areas, carefully positioning everyone to avoid harsh shadows.
- Golden Hour Fields: As the sun began to set, we moved to the open fields, where the golden light filtered through tall grass—a perfect backdrop for those magical, romantic shots that are so iconic in wedding photography.
