Oswald West State Park is a stunning location on the Oregon coast for couples photos, and is one of my favorites! There are a million trails you can take around this area but one of the best ones (IMO) is Short Sands Beach Trail. This trail will take you all the way out to the beach where you get stunning views: the pines, Cape Falcon, waterfalls and a gorgeous beach.
Oswald West State Park is also very close to other popular spots on the Oregon Coast: Hug Point, Cannon Beach and much more. Along the way there are several viewpoint spots you can pull over and admire the coast. I never get tired of this drive and am always a huge fan!
Hannah and Moises are adventurous and I look up to them quite a bit – they planned a road trip from their hometown in Northern California all the way through Oregon and finished it off on the Northwest Coast near Cannon Beach. They chose Oswald West State Park for their photos after I sent them a few suggestions. I personally had been to the state park before, but hadn’t photographed a couple there yet and was dying to. You get a gorgeous walk through the forest before you pop out at the beach so it’s the best of both worlds.
If you are planning your own trip to the Oregon Coast, check out these tips below:
- Check out some Airbnbs in the Cannon Beach area HERE
- Pelican Brewing in Cannon Beach and Pacific City is an iconic place for food and drinks – you have to go!
- Visit Haystack Rock, which is a quick 8 minute drive from Hug Point on the Oregon Coast
- Low tide is going to be best to utilize the entire area when getting married. The waterfall in these photos cannot be accessed at high tide!
