This downtown Portland courthouse elopement holds a very special place in my heart. Why, you may ask? Marley and Michael were actually guests at one of my close friend’s elopement earlier that year in April! I am so honored that they would pick me to photograph their own special day after seeing me work with their friends! And let me tell you, these two had an incredible adventure!

Marley and Michael’s downtown Portland courthouse elopement was so special because the two of them met and fell in love in the city. We started off with photos in the rose garden, then headed to the courthouse to make things official, went to the waterfront for some more photos and finished at Frank’s wine bar for drinks and dinner with their close friends and family. It was so perfect and totally them. I felt inspired by their love for the “rose city” so I tried a double exposure when we were at the rose gardens and I had to include it in this blog post!

Elopement days can be whatever you want. For Marley and Michael, you could tell that this day was perfect for them and they were able to do so many things they loved. From taking photos in the beautiful rose garden, to having their immediate family present, to celebrating with wine and friends to finish the day, it was great.

Marley & Michael truly made the best of their downtown Portland courthouse elopement in a way that was authentic and true to them.
