Spring Engagement Photos at Cape Kiwanda

November 22, 2022

Introduction

These spring engagement photos at Cape Kiwanda were so much fun! This spring I had the pleasure of capturing Chloe and Ben’s engagement photos, and I also documented their elopement in October in Bend, Oregon! Be on the lookout for those photos hitting the blog soon.

Oregon Coast Engagement Photos

The Oregon Coast is a beautiful place to take photos. There are many beautiful locations along the Oregon coast, but Cape Kiwanda is one of my favorites. I love that it’s easy to get to, and there’s so much variety in the landscape: sand dunes, rocky outcrops, crashing waves…and at low tide native plants poke through the sand like green jewels!

The winter season also offers up some stunning opportunities for engagement photos – including frozen waterfalls (we recommend hiking around Multnomah Falls), snowy landscapes (check out Crater Lake), and ice caves (Pelton Basin / Crystal Springs SnoPark area).

Oregon Beach Engagement Photos

In this blog post, I’m showing you spring engagement photos at Cape Kiwanda, on a beautiful and sunny Monday when the beach is hardly crowded.

This year’s rainy season is bringing its typical change in weather patterns to the Pacific Northwest. While some may complain about rain and fog, I think it adds to an awesome landscape that makes for a unique engagement session location. I was really grateful for Chloe and Ben’s flexibility this spring as we dealt with a few reschedules due to weather. It ended up being a perfect day!

Chloe and Ben’s love story started from meeting on a dating app and evolved to an engagement four years later!

Chloe and Ben’s love story started from meeting on a dating app. They met in person after for some drinks at a church bar and realized they had much in common. When talking to Chloe, she said she knew a few months in that Ben was the one which I thought was so sweet. Four years later, they are now engaged and just got married this year in a private and small ceremony in Bend!

I instantly knew I loved them when we started chatting and I learned that they enjoy traveling, drinking beer and are animal lovers. They’re truly wonderful people. Plus they have an amazing vision for their elopement day down in beautiful Bend, Oregon.

They wanted to do an engagement session on the beach at Cape Kiwanda so they’d have some photos of them together to display and announce their engagement.

I liked photographing these two on the gorgeous Oregon Coast, and had a blast documenting their wedding this year!

When I met Ben and Chloe at Cape Kiwanda, they were prepared with a few different cute outfits and even asked for my input which I love. We started off with their engagement session on the beach, then made our way up the trail to a rock overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

I hope you enjoyed reading about Chloe and Ben’s spring engagement photos at Cape Kiwanda with me. We had so much fun photographing these two, and cannot wait to share photos of their elopement in Bend, Oregon soon!
