The Columbia River gorge is one of my favorite places to take photos and is perfect for a romantic elopement! When Ben and Nolan first connected with me and told me their intent to get married overlooking the beautiful river, I was thinking “SAY LESS I’m freaking there.” The landscape is unlike any other in the US and I think it’s the perfect place to exchange vows with your closest friends and family.

These two have such a beautiful love story and watching their day come together was really a treat. Ben and Nolan started with a first look, just the two of them. One of my favorite touches from this day was that Ben’s side of the family and Nolan’s side of the family wore colors to match their suits. Prior to the first look, both families hid in cars to make sure the color of each other’s wedding attire still remained a secret!

After the first look, we headed over to a beautiful spot with rolling hills and a stunning view of the Columbia River for the wedding ceremony. Ben and Nolan exchanged vows witnessed by their closest friends and family, shared a first dance and cut their wedding cake all in this area! It was pure perfection.

I always come back to Ben and Nolan’s elopement when I reminisce on this summer’s elopement season and all the beautiful and intentional weddings I documented. Their day was so perfect for them and I am so excited for their journeys to continue.
